UPPSC Syllabus ACF Range Forest Officer Exam
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) organizes written examination for various posts of Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) and Range Forest Officer (RFO) every year. All these posts are recruited for the forest department. Pay Scale of Assistant Conservator of Forest is 15600-39100 and grade pay 5400. This is the post of Group B Gazetted category. The rank of Range Forest Officer is also and Group B and Gazetted category. The pay scale of range forest officer is 9300-34800 and grade pay 4800.
Selection for all these posts is done on the basis of written examination and interview. For all those candidates who are preparing for the Forest Department’s RFO and Assistant Conservator of Forrest, for them, we are presenting important information related to the examination here.
Educational qualification for these posts is as following
Assistant Conservator of Forest:- A Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subject namely Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Forestry, Statistics or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
FOR THE POST OF RANGE FOREST OFFICER:- ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION– A Bachelor’s Degree with two or more of the subjects, namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Geology, Agriculture, Statistics, Horticulture and Environment or Bechelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science .
Physical Standard Test is also organized for all these posts, details of which are as follows.
Description of Physical Efficiency Test PET:
The Physical Efficiency Test is also organized for these posts with physical standard test. The male candidates will be required to qualify in walking test of 25 kms. to be completed in
Four hours and female candidates of 14 kms. to be completed in Four hours. The arrangement for conducting this test will be made by the Chief Conservator of Forests, Uttar Pradesh.
AGE LIMIT: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 40 years
Selection Process ACF and RFO post of Forest Department:
First of all, the preliminary examination is organized for selection for all these posts. For all such candidates who are declared qualified in the preliminary examination, the main examination is organized for them. Personal Interview Test Examination is conducted for candidates who declared qualified in the main examination.
Together, it is compulsory for all the candidates to qualify the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test examination (PET).
Preliminary examination pattern
There are 2 question papers in the prelims examination.
First question paper
The first question paper is related to the General Studies. In this question paper, total questions of 200 marks are asked. A total of 2 hours is given to solve the questions. The questions related to the 1st question paper are from : current events, National and International Importance, History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Politics and Governance, Economy and Social Development, General Science.
Question Paper 2
Question papers are related to 2 General Aptitude. Total questions of 200 marks are asked. A total of 2 hours is given to solve the questions. The questions of Paper 2 are related to the following topics: Interpersonal skills involving communication skills, Logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision making and problem solving, General Mental Ability, Elementary Mathematics, General English and Hindi .

Paper-II of the General Studies will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.

Any two subjects to be selected from the following list of the optional subjects-
- Agriculture Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
- Environmental Science.
Provided that the candidates will not be allowed to offer the following combination of subjects-
(a) Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering and Horticulture
(b) Mathematics and Statistics
(c) Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
(d) of the Engineering Subjects viz. Agriculture Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and mechanical Engineering not more than one subject.
